CPU SuperegoFinally, a CPUID utility for everyone! Although Intel and AMD provide free, proprietary CPUID utilities, their support level is not clearly defined. Maintenance of ports to non-Windows(R) platforms is inconsistent. These proprietary utilities may present only terse summaries of microprocessor capabilities, confounding end-users and developers alike.
This utility will be kept up to date with the latest CPUID specifications from Intel, AMD, and other x86 microprocessor manufacturers, while at the same time providing clear, pedestrian explanations of microprocessor features.
Design will be incremental. A stable command line interface and C library for POSIX-compliant systems will be developed. Over time, wrappers for other compiled languages will be added. GUI front-ends may also be developed.
