Ruby Social News is a new social news system that is designed entirely within Ruby on Rails, and almost entirely self-contained--only a couple of plugins are used for dealing with user changeable timezones.

rbsocialnews contains a highly customizable user permission system, which is easily modified to work with anyone's need from a simple web based administration system. It also contains language filters, threaded commenting system and is fully ajax enabled where appropriate for the system.

rbsocialnews is also tightly coded, with full testing framework included and designed to be as optimized as possible to make sure both speed of loading, and load on the server itself is controlled, plus it's designed to be very scalable across multiple servers.
