Taxicab Geometry is a math demonstration tool similar to Geometer's Sketchpad or Geometry Explorer. It uses a different definition of distance, which changes the appearance of every shape that is defined using distance. Circles become diamonds, ellipses become octagons, parabolas and hyperbolas change shape as well.

Taxicab Geometry allows the user to create dynamic constructions. The shapes on screen can be resized and moved using a few control points. This demonstrates how elements of a construction are interrelated in taxicab--as opposed to euclidean--geometry.
